CINCO DE MAYO

I hope everyone had a great Day of May 5. I know my day was good, filled with lots of laughter, great memories, old feelings that resurfaced, and LOTS OF TEARS!!!

Elder Kevin Henry Durr entered the MTC today! and boy was it just as hard and easy as I thought it was. We started off stoping at Kimm's work so Kevin could say "goodbye" then we started the drive to Provo. The camera crew have been with us yesterday and today. They spent the whole day with him in the MTC after we left to catch everything on film. I can't wait to watch how Kevins first day was!

We got to Provo and had our traditional lunch with the missionary at Sizzler. Good Lunch,

then on ward to the MTC.
We park our cars across the street and then crossed to the street to the MTC were we spent a few minutes taking pictures by the M.T.C. sign.
We then got back into the car. . we all pilled into dad's car and drove to the drop pff point, where we then proceed to exit the car. An Elder came up to the car and pulled Kevins bag out, that was when the moment hit! I really have to say goodbye! The tears started the flowin, the hugs started coming, I got my turned to hug Kevin, then off he went, Walking away just like that.

I do have to say, that I am so HAPPY that they changed the rules with dropping missionaries off, I love how we drop off and leave, So much better than sitting in the MTC and having to watch a 30 min movie about missionary work then saying good us walking away (that is what they used to do in the past, no bueno)
We then headed for home, and I went to work.

  1. Good luck Kevin! We are all going to miss him, you will have to keep us updated on his adventures. I love the picture of him at lunch with the napkin all covering his shirt as to not get it dirty! Classic! I am a fan of just dropping them off too. There really is no need to prolong the event with a movie. :)
